Global Warming

Global Warming is the increase in the average temperature of earth’s near-surface air and oceans since the mid-20th century, and its projected continuation. According to the 2007 Fourth Assessment Report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global surface temperature increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the 20th century. Most of the observed temperature increase since the middle of the 20th century has been caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases, which result from human activity such as the burning of fossil fuel and deforestation. Global dimming, a result of increasing concentrations of atmospheric aerosols that block sunlight from reaching the surface, has partially countered the effects of warming induced by greenhouse gases.
The Effects of Global Warming
Effects on weather
Increasing temperature is likely to lead to increasing precipitation but the effects on storms are less clear. Extratropical storms partly depend on the temperature gradient, which is predicted to weaken in the northern hemisphere as the polar region warms more than the rest of the hemisphere. When we watched the news on the TV, we can see the storms, flood and the other disasters. All of this are happen because the change of the wheather. Today we can not predict the weather, because in the morning the wather is so bright and clear but in the evening, it can be change to be cloudly or  rain.

Local climate change
Regional effects of global warming vary in nature. Some are the result of a generalised global change, such as rising temperature, resulting in local effects, such as melting ice. In other cases, a change may be related to a change in a particular ocean current or weather system. In such cases, the regional effect may be disproportionate and will not necessarily follow the global trend.
There are three major ways in which global warming will make changes to regional climate: melting or forming ice, changing the hydrological cycle (of evaporation and precipitation) and changing currents in the oceans and air flows in the atmosphere. The coast can also be considered a region, and will suffer severe impacts from sea level rise.
Sea level rise
According to the scientists, between 1993 and 2003, the rate increased above the previous period to 3.1 [2.4 to 3.8] mm/yr. IPCC (2007a) were uncertain whether the increase in rate from 1993 to 2003 was due to natural variations in sea level over the time period, or whether it reflected an increase in the underlying long-term trend. When we read the news paper, we can read the issues that one island can be sink below a surface near the future because of the sea level will rise because of the ice sphere in the Antarctic ocean will be molten. For the example, the scientists has show us some evidence that Jakarta will be sink below the surface at 2050 if we can not stop global warming. And it can be continuous to the other island.

Temperature rise

According to the scientists, from 1961 to 2003, the global ocean temperature has risen by 0.10 °C from the surface to a depth of 700 m. There is variability both year-to-year and over longer time scales, with global ocean heat content observations showing high rates of warming for 1991 to 2003, but some cooling from 2003 to 2007. The temperature of the Antarctic Southern Ocean rose by 0.17 °C (0.31 °F) between the 1950s and the 1980s, nearly twice the rate for the world's oceans as a whole . As well as having effects on ecosystems (e.g. by melting sea ice, affecting algae that grow on its underside), warming reduces the ocean's ability to absorb CO. Here at Unai, we can felt the same thing. At 2006, where ever we go, we must use sweater. No matter  its daylight or night because the temprature was so cold. But today we do not need to use the sweater in the daylight or even in the night because the temprature has rise.

How to solve the global warming:
1. Set limit on global warming pollutions.
2. Invest in green jobs and cleans energy.
3. Drive smarter car.
4. Creater green homes and buildings.
5. Build better communities and transportations networks.

Conclusion
Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of earth’s near-surface air and oceans since the mid-20th century and its projected continuation. Every year the temprature will increase and it is the serious threat for us and for our next generation. We can not imagine that our next generation will be alive in the high temprature and it does not secure for them. Let us keep our earth from the global warning so, we able to feel the secure earth today and to be the saving for our next generation.
